Public Radio for the iPhone lets you listen to live and on demand radio programs across the country on the go with hundreds in the offering, all presented in an easy to use app.

The app splits listening options in two ways: Live and On Demand. Live is split into featured, state, program, and local. State organizes stations by state. Program lets you filter by programs and local uses your current location to display nearby stations. An alphabetical scroll bar to the right lets you skip between stations quickly.  Selecting a station plays the live stream.

On Demand lets you listen to past episodes of popular programs. Episodes are sorted by featured, categories, and ABC alphabetical order. A search bar makes it easy to find any station. Our verdict: Public Radio Player is a step down from the powerful TuneIn radio app with thousands of stations, including international ones. If you are looking for choice, go with TuneIn Radio and keep Public Radio as your #1 on demand program provider.
